Hi there!
Wouh, back from a terrifying week... we were celebrating the Independance of Chili last week. The 18th and the 19th are national historical dates, but actually Chilean don't celebrate only these 2 days, Chili's off during 5 days, making barbecues all day & night long and dancing till the end of the night!!! That's pretty awesome, I just have a bit too much "carne" in my belly right now ;)
I stayed in Santiago for the 17th and 18th, discovering Chilean fundas with my flatmates, really enjoying handcrafts, then barbecues at night at some friends' and Cueca dancing.
On 19th we went to Cajon del Maipo, a very beautiful place, at only about 2 hours from Santiago. There we made friends with the minimarket owner (Alejandro) who invited us to a pre-barbecue that ended up into a real barbecue and then we all went dancing at la funda. muy buena onda!!! The day after we walked in the canyon and cascades with Alexandra, pure air, pure water, a big bowl of Nature... Then barbecue surprise for Alejandro's mother's birthday, with all the family, very very good spirit, and after sunset over the mountains we get back to Santiago.
On Sunday we drove to Renaca for a surf session eventually canceled for bad weather... I got a pretty bad cold there but the swordfish was worth it!
