I suppose the flight out was what they call "uneventful," although the first two or three hours while we were being bumped anxiously up and down felt quite eventful enough to me. As you can see from the photo, en route we enjoyed impressive views of wide open spaces, both outside the plane and indeed inside it.
Sorry, but the last bit to the hotel was uneventful too, which isn't really what you want as a blogger. We'll add some pics of the hotel soon, but the words that come to mind to describe it are "well-located," "extremely spacious", "comfortable," and, sadly, "a bit frowsty."
Bravely, on arrival about 9pm, though a bit knackered, we headed out for dinner to a remarkably good restaurant that I'd cunningly pre-booked. However, we were too tired and too full for dessert.

Did I mention that I have a bloody awful cold? Well, I do, and I must say it slowed me down a lot yesterday. I did some work in the morning, then headed down to Park Avenue to met my former client Richard Chambers at JPMorgan HQ. He took me up to the 50th Floor dining room, and pointed out the key landmarks - Chrysler Building, East River, table where World's Most Important Banker Jamie Dimond usually sits.
After that, I did a little light shopping and then to be honest back here for the rest of the day, to make a massive contribution to Kleenex's 2011 profits. I hope this isn't going to get much worse, or it'll start seriously interfering with this trip. And this blog.
