Bit of a sleep in this-morning, 8:30 wake up. Drove into town to get lift to jet boating, Shotover Canyon (Luke) & so Rachel could find a sports massage place.

The jet boating operations work like clockwork with hundreds of people coming though, they have an amazingly smooth process for getting everyone through while ensuring an amazing experience. As promised they go full speed past cliffs, spin, etc… going literally within millimeters of the cliffs and rocks jutting out of the water. Almost every corner seems like a certain crash then the boat while till facing the rock slides sideways around it. This trip was AMAZING, and lives up to the explanation, absolutely exhilarating and breathtaking.

Had lunch at a modern lunch bar in town, great soup and bread roles - then off to the Onsen hot pools, personal hot pools overlooking the shotover river and valley - great view to relax in steaming hot pools.

Headed back to town where Rachel had a massage & I took the bus out to the Canyon Swing! This is a huge thrill - literally throw yourself off a cliff into a canyon and after freefalling down the cliff with no resistance, you're arced into a swing over the river canyon. Decided to do "pin drop" which sounds simply, but it apparently one of the freakiest, essentially because you can see the bottom of the canyon and have to consciously throw your body over into it. The guys operating it do their best to unnerve you further with comments leading in about hitting the cliff etc… and as I jumped making a comment about it not being connected correctly! While only short - this is certainly a huge rush.

Had Mexican for dinner and then went for a walk through town. We're noticing that every experience in Queenstown comes complete with expensive pictures set that can be purchased, there are even pictures available of your trip up the cable car!
