Today we went in to London for the day and ticked off a lot of things from our wish to do list. First tick: We went on a fast train from billericay, then we changed on to the tube and went on the underground...tick. When we came out we were at Big Ben, just in time to hear the clock chime for 11. That was cool! And tick. We walked around the Houses of Parliament, Westminster abbey, 10 Downing St, Trafalgar Square and more...tick. We learned that Westminster abbey...

Now we have settled in to English life... It is so great to see the kids reunited with their cousins, and it's as if they have never been apart. Despite not seeing each other for two years, they have just got on together immediately, running around playing, completely overexcited g each other - all as it should be! All too soon it was time to leave Saariselka. This was one of the hardest things to do. As the daylight came, we walked around the village, just taking it all in. Outside the shops there are dog tie ups and places to park your sleds and skis. The road is constantly driven over by snowploughs, with loaders picking up buckets of snow and moving them into big piles, making new play areas for kids! This morning we got up super early and went down to the toboggan run before breakfast. We didn't want to run out of time before we had to go to the airport. The sled run is 1.2km long! It was pitch dark but they have good lights everywhere so you can see. Besides it is almost always dark in Lapland in December. Mum towed me on my sled for the ten minute walk to the ski area, and dad towed Gemma. When we got there we did lots of sledding, again and again and again...

Here is what each of us took from our search for Santa... Search for Santa day was absolutely amazing. After fuelling up on more breakfast than I thought was possible for one family to consume, we hopped on the bus and headed deeper into the Arctic circle on our mission to find Santa. We took a reindeer sleigh ride (beautiful), went on toboggans, tandem skis and snow scooters. We took a husky sled, and I can honestly say that driving the husky is the most amazing...
