Lovewells vs The World
Hei! That means hello in Finnish. The first activity we got to try was snowmobiles (or jet skis if you are mum...she just can't get that jet skis are for WATER! ) Before we could do any activities we had to get snow suits and boots and massive reindeer leather mittens, so we would all be warm. It is hard to carry all the stuff but we are glad to wear it! The we went down to the snow mobiles. The kids all go in a big sleigh with a ranger. The grown ups ride 2 per vehicle. Mum didn't want to drive so dad did it. We set out through tunnels and next to roads while we got used to it, then we were off over the fells. It was snowing heavily and got really windy: lumimyrsky, a blizzard in Finnish. It was seriously bumpy too. Mum said being a passenger was scary but we weren't scared. It was exciting! We stopped in the middle of nowhere for hot berry juice and ginger biscuits beside a roaring campfire and heard stories about animals and the northern lights. Then we were off again, this time riding back through the forest where we saw a herd of reindeer sheltering from the Arctic storm. Snow mobilling is really fun, I can't wait until I am 16 so I can ride one myself. When we got back to our hotel we staggered back to our room ( it is a very long walk with long corridors and a lot of doors) and fell into our beds. We slept like logs while the lumimyrsky continued outside. Gemma
