Today mum had another sciencey surprise for us... In the form of dessert! We went to the a Chocolate Chair in Japantown, where they make ice cream in front of your eyes using liquid nitrogen. That in itself is awesome to watch because the "dry ice" billows out over the mixers and you can catch it and swirl it around. Dad had a chocolate one and it was so creamy and delicious... Today we went to Alcatraz! As you probably know, it is an island, so we had to catch a boat to get there! When we arrived, we received an audio tour, which led you all around the inside of the prison. We went through lots of cells,heard stories of escape attempts and learnt lots of facts. We got to see the isolation cells, which are for the prisoners who can't even see other prisoners, because of lots of reasons. In the dining room, they had the kitchen bared off...

Today we went to the Exploratorium, which is a giant science museum. It was awesome! It had hands on experiments for every kind of science you could imagine. Some of our favourite things included: a slinky conveyor belt,where you had to match the speed of the belt to the speed of the slinky; a magnetic sculpture, a sand dune machine where you controlled the wind to create the shape of the sand dunes, and a tornado generator! Daniel: We went to the jellybean factory, and we got to have a good look at how the Jellybeans were being made by different robots That were around the factory. The maximum amount made was approximately 30,000 per day ready to sell to people all over the world (hopefully they didn't sell 10 boxes to each person!).
