Greetings from the Gili Islands!
There was a bit of a Lou Lou drama whilst actually getting here. The sea was sooo rough I was sea sick… I filled two bags of sick (very loudly) on my way over here. I was being sick, shaking and crying all at once; luckily some guys from Holland came to my rescue and made sure I was o.k. I'm now famous on the Island and known as 'That's the girl who was sick'. I'm dreading going back to Bali on Wednesday. I have got a motion sickness pill to take this time though.
Apart from that, this place is paradise. White sand, turquoise water, no motor vehicles, just horse and cart for transport…need I say any more! I've spent my days snorkeling on the reefs and just wandering around.
When I got here I couldn't believe how chilled out all the people were, they were all laughs and smiles….then I found out that all the locals were either stoned or on mushrooms (there are no police on the Islands) - It's very funny to watch but I am watching from a distance.
I'm on Gili Trawangan at the moment which is the party island, people just start a party in the middle of the road (dirt track) and by about 11pm it's heaving and pumping with house music. I'm probably going to brave the water again and visit Gili Meno and Gili Air in the next couple of days.
Miss you all, big hugs, speak soon
Louise xxxx
P.s I tried putting pictures on yesterday but the site was down and now I don't have my leads with me so I'll try again next time
