Hi guys,
Another update within a week - aren't you lucky?! Well, the weather got progressively worse whilst we were in Surfers Paradise - I have never seen rain like it. Everything in the van got soaked, we had wet clothes everywhere and Liane's matress is starting to go mouldy! Nice stuff. Never fear though, it perked up whilst we were in Brisbane and armed with febreeze and some cleaning liquid, the van is back on track!
So, Brisbane - we got there with a lot of wet clothes and spent the first afternoon washing them and spending about $10 on dryers. With it tipping down outside and us not wanting to get any wetter, we played ring of fire in the van in the evening, where I was forced to drink VB - I definately don't like beer! The next day we had a quick look around the city and then went rock climbing at kangaroo cliffs. Now, it's a hell of a lot harder than it looks and you have to do it in bare feet which was quite an experience. It's very strange having to rely on your friends below to make sure that if you slip, you don't fall to the bottom! Liane and Brett didn't like it at all, but I managed to scale the cliffs nearly to the top which is quite an achievement for me - I think I have found my calling in life! The views from the top (when I wasn't scared to look round) were amazing and I'd like to try it again when I get back.
Then, we left Brisbane to go to Australia zoo, 'home of the crocodile hunter' aka steve irwin. It was a complete rip off but I'm glad we went. We saw the croc show and lots of tigers and elephants, but my personal favourite was the shop, where you could buy 'steve lives' clothing and a fitness video by Bindi (steve's daughter), who at 9years old also has her own clothing range. Sadly, I couldn't afford to buy any of it!! The night and the day after we spent Noosa which, was quite a nice place. We did some kayaking there (which I HATED) and we all got soaked and that was about it. At the moment we're in Hervey Bay. Liane and I went for a bike ride along the coast today and we're off on a tour for 2 days to Fraser Island tomorrow. It's going to be luxury for us as we get to sleep in a proper bed!
I have loads of pictures to put up but I'm on some crap computer that won't let me put any up at the moment. The picture above is where we're going tomorrow though to give you some idea. It's starting to get even more like paradise as we head further on up the coast, but I have a feeling it's going to get a lot better!
Louise xx
P.S. I'm sure it is very hot in the UK but it is not as hot as here! Although we were laughed at today by some ozzies who thought it was cold as it is their winter - 20 + degrees in winter! What a joke...
