Today was our final day in Rio and also the birth of baby Lara! she is 3 kilos, 47 cm and born at 9am this morning. Carnival has been a surreal experience but holding a 12 hour old baby has to be up there with other surreal moments of what has been a great 10 days. she's so cute, with big beautiful eyes though she seems to have inherited her dads pale skin with won't be good for the brazilian climate!
emma and i spent the day at the local beach, soaking up our last rays in rio. we couldnt get hold of sabrina or eleanor last night so we went out with fred and an australian friend of his, dave and some of his aussie friends. it was really nice being out in a bigger group and it made us excited about staying in hostels and the people we'll meet along the way. we ended up seeing them all on the beach this morning which was fun.
after visiting baby lara, we packed and then finally managed to meet up with sabrina, iona and eleanor. it was great to see them all but after a caiprinha in a kiosk by copacabana beach, emma and I headed home as we're up early tomorrow.
Rio has been so much fun. Ognen and Cris are both so kind for letting us stay and although i'm sad to leave, I'm so excited about the next stage.

Georgie WEEEZY!!!!!!!!! im so stupid i only just realised that your home page only shows one blog...so i thought you'd only written one and ive only just read them all- it sounds absolutely incredible!! i am so so so jealous. i laughed out loud so much when i read about you and emma sitting in the tube station with your hats etc amazing! i bet you are ridiculously tanned already. it's snowing in bristol at the moment :S hope it stays just as insane! missing you loads lots and lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxx
