Today was our first full day on the ihla grande. its the third largest island off the coast of brazil and is about 2 hours south of Rio. its unreal how different it is from rio. so relaxing, small and peaceful but with loads of backpackers.
Our hostel is right by the beach front and last night had a massive BBQ with live reggae music which was really fun. We bumped into quite few people we recognised or knew including the girls id met on the plane and also, weirdly a guy from Malbourough who we had met six months earlier and fiona and tashs party. he was here with 4 friends and we spent most of the evening with them.
unfortunately the weathers been quite grey, though we had some sun this morning so spent the morning on the beach and the afternoon in cafes. we also had `shrove friday´ instead of tuesday and had crepes for lunch.
niot much else reallly to report, only that were having a great time and excited about travelling properly
lots of love
