Today was our day-trip to the Amalfi Coast, a place that managed to do what few can: it completely lived up to its reputation! We took the train about an hour south to Sorrento, and then caught the bus that services this nearly unserviceable coastal area. After the hour long bus ride to Amalfi that covered roughly 30 kms, I am convinced that Italian Grand Prix drivers must cut their teeth driving buses on the Amalfi Coast.
The highlight of the day was definitely our hike, dubbed The Path of the Gods for its awe-inspiring scenery, which took us 8kms from the village of Bomerano to Positano. The hike was moderately challenging, just enough so for two people who've spent more than enough time on buses and trains in the past few days. It is one thing to take in the dramatic coastline from the bus, but getting right in it was a great way to spend the day!
Lesson for the day: if life tempts you with low-hanging fruit, just make sure it isn't a cactus pear.
