At Louise's insistence we ventured to the Staropramen Brewery today, where we learned a little bit about the history behind Prague's most famous beer. While the tour is brand new and very impressive from a technological standpoint, it is a bit impersonal because it is an unguided tour with voiceovers leading you from one exhibit to the next. The tour's most redeeming quality was undoubtedly Mikael, our gregarious bartender who not only helped us navigate the Staropramen portfolio, but who provided colorful commentary on everything from hockey to 80's pop music. We were also quite lucky to be visitors on the day that the brewery purchased its first digital camera, which helped to implicate us in a number of photo opportunities, including a mistletoe shot that is destined for the Staropramen Facebook page. By the time it was all said and done, Mikael had been ousted and replaced by an infinitely more charming bartender!
