We arrived in the great country of Swaziland in the midst of a thunderstorm which continued throughout our time there. We stayed at Sondzela's backpackers-lovely place but ashame about the ignorant staff! We decided to make the most of it, and went on our organised Swaziland highlight tour, where Sean, the owner of the competitor backpackers picked us up and took us on an insight into the kingdom of Swziland. We stayed with them for tea and ended up at the local club-House on Fire, to watch a Canadian guy play an acoustic set. Eventually, Lou and I were on stage dancing and singing too!
The following day, to escape the staff of the hostel we ventured off into the fields surrounding us to be greeted by waterhogs, mud and unusual insects.
The sun shone the day we left as we took the BazBus to Nelspruit.
This was the gateway to Kruger Park- 4 days, 3nights, 7 people and a guide!
The weekend was fantastic, we saw 3 of the Big 5! excluding Lions and Leopards, check out the photos. This will explain exactly what we saw-words can't descibe the amazement!
We camped for 2 nights and then stayed at a beautiful lodge on the 3rd, where we lounged round the inviting pool for the afternoon, before undertaking the night drive!....getting up at 5am was a difficulty don't u know!
It was going so well, Lou learnt how to pee in a bush elegantly and after drinks at sunset, we headed off on our night drive-where we were greeted by a big puddle!........which we couldn't escape. We had to wade our way bare foot to dry land-whilst hearing the echoing cries of the hyena in the distant! But, we made it back safely to the lodge in another form of transport that came and fetched us.
Following Kruger, we headed to J'burg and stayed at a welcoming hostel until our flight on Thursday 6th.
Perth was awating our arrival!
