Round the World with Lou & Jo
We arrived in Coffee Bay after an exhausting trip on the Baz Bus, where we had to change to a Landrover Discovery-only to discover.....there was going to be six of us rammed in the back for an hour and a half, where the pot holes were painful. The hostel was very African in nature, we were right out in the sticks on a lonesome bay, but the best part was the beer was less than a pound.
Because we had spent so much time sitting on the sunday, we thought it'd be a great idea to visit the 'hole in the wall' where we could go on a trek. Lou and I packed a little bottle of water and a chocky bar and got driven to this incredible "hole in the wall" with a little chap from a nearby town. He was our guide to lead us home. 4 hours later........we were still trekking! The conversation started off...'wow look at the view'...to 'what does the word "trek" acutally mean? Is it a brisk walk? A long walk?????????no, its a vertical climb up and down hills to the point where your life flashes before your eyes when you slip and nearly fall off the cliff. But we were very pleased with ourselves once we finished and we had made a great friend with a dog which had followed us the whole trip. On the evening whilst drinking our cheap drinks, we were all entertained by the local school children who danced around to some African tunes!
Unfortunately, it rained on the tuesday, and to be frank, the bread making class didnt really appeal to either of us, so we played cards and relaxed.
