Dreams Can Come True

A much colder and overcast day today. Took Sunny for a quick run to the lake. Played with internet banking and then got the GO train to downtown Toronto. The buzz is all about TIFF - Toronto International Film Festival. Several stars are in town. Megan Fox, Jennifer Connelly, George Clooney, Ewan Mcgregor, the Jonas Brothers....

Went up to Bloor West Village and signed the lease for the Condo (apartment) - love this place! Indoor pool and gym on site! Only thing missing is the view of the CN Tower.

Back to downtown and King Street West. Some people were waiting behind barriers - mmm seems rather like some famous people could walk down there. TV cameras check, security check, red carpet check. This is TIFF! Went straight to the front of the barriers and waited.....it was getting colder. But then the shout of the crowd was "Ewan, Ewan, Ewan!" OMG Ewan McGreggor!! He looked so different! Must have been the hair cut and turn up jeans. He walked the crowd line signing things and talking to people. He was so Scottish. Very friendly and polite. Nice guy.

Then the organiser (well she had a clipboard and headphones on) came along and told the crowd that yes George Clooney would be here soon and that we had to stay calm and not push on the barriers as they weren't very strong and people could get hurt and that George was a good guy and would talk to everyone so there was no need to push. George was going to be here!!! Soon enough a black SUV Cadillac pulled up at the bottom of the crowd line and OMG George gulp Clooney got out. Hearts stopped, excitment grew. George spent time shaking hands, signing things and chatttng to fans. He cracked jokes and was very friendly towards the crowd. OMG what was I going to say to him? What do you say to a super star? OMG he is now right next to me! So what could I say? I went to shake his hand and then saw his right hand was bandged. Ok....then he touched my arm and smiled at me. "Hello George great to meet you - you're amazing" Pause as he looked at me (had the English accent thrown him?) "Good to meet you, how are you?" "Great you alright?" "Yes thank you" and that was my moment with George! Totally starstruck! Wow George touched me OMG! George explained to a person next to me that his hand was bandged as he had shut it in a car door and he advised against doing such a thing. In real life he is very tanned, slim and seemed quite small - not more than 6 foot. Wow.

In a daze I noticed Jeff Bridges had arrived but he didn't come and meet the crowd. Further down the line the 3 actors lined up for photos and cameras rolled. Unknown people arrived in black cars and the crowd and I wondered who they were.

Now who could top George Clooney? Be careful what you dream of.
