hey all, have had a good few days with the boys, their 1st day we just went around town, cafe,shopping etc, but happened to stumble across local rugby teams playing a training game, right on the seafront, which was really cool and made us all happy! it was crazy though, their all huge out here! even the women which is scary, i feel like a child compared to most! yesterday we had a lovely day, we went out to a little island resort just off the main island, it was literally like this pic, perfect white sand, blue sea and palm trees, and lots of shells, i was just walking around smiling! there was a bit of rain- the weather heres a bit up n down!- but when the sun was out it was gorgeous. there was even a ship wreck just off shore and a swing rope from a palm tree! today was our 1st day in hosp, it was interesting. the hospital is very basic, sort of clean and very busy. i'm doing paediatrics this week, and the children are the most beautifull ive ever seen and so sweet. I was in a paeds cardiac clinic, seeing all the children with heart problems from rheumatic fever whicgh was pretty sad. also sat in an outpatients clinic, which is pretty much like seeing a gp and going to a&e all in one! saw a mix of things and was with an aussie dr which was cool. all the patients here are just so grateful and don't complain about anything, which was really amazing to see, compared to back home! its pretty chilled and looks like we're only really in in the mornings, can complain, may spend some afternoons on a beach! even walking to hospital is an experience in itself, the roads have no pavements so this morn it had been raining so by the time we got there, our legs were covered in mud,nice! and on way back all the schools had come out, and literally every child say hi and bye to me, its such a weird feeling, but we do stand out a mile! the guest house has got better as we've managed to get some warm water, so had a hot shoer last night! yay! and have found a bakery that sells nice cakes and bread so i wont go hungry!! sorry for spelling mistakes, not much time to write! I hope all is well at home, a litlle homesick now but trying not to think about it. lots of love to all, lor xx
