Finally! I'm on a different computer and it seems to work!
Right where do I start!
Saturday- It was a scorching 38 degrees! So I went exploring the paddington markets and realised it was a mistake due to the heat so quickly got on a bus then ferry out to manly for an afternoon in the sun. Howeevr on the way managed to find a cafe that only does choclate things, amazing!! So treated myself to a choc brownie that came with a hot chocolate dipping sauce, yum! Had a lovely afternoon at manly, braved the sea and didn't get knocked over by any big waves like the other day, yay! Then in the evening went to meet dani from the airport and go to the hostel. It was great to see her, we went for a hot chocolate and then I got the train back to Chris's, hated leaving her though.
Sunday- the weather took a turn for the worse, completely overcast and cold! So we took that oppportunity to go shopping in the afternoon after a morning of finding her a hostel closer to me. We then got an early night as had planned the blue mountains trip for monday.
Monday- the weather was even worse! We were really gutted but had a great day. Left really early and got picked up in a minibus by a crazy but funny tour guide! Started the day at the Featherdale wildlife park where we got to see australias native animals including koalas, kanagroos, wallabies, crocs, tasmanian devils etc. My fav was feeding the kangaroos, their so sweet!
We then headed out to the mountains where the weather got worse and worse! Went to a little town called Leura for lunch which was sweet but rainy, we sat in a cafe and we could of been at home it was so wet and cold! We couldn't stop giggling at the fact we were wearing raincoats in aus! Anyway we got to the lookout point but it was a complete whiteout which was a real shame as the mountains are supposed to be beautiful. We then went on the steepest railway in the world down the mountain to a rainforest for a walk which was nice. Train was a bit scary though, its almost vertical!!
On the way back we stopped at a winery for some cheese and bisciuts and wine. It was a really lovely place and the wine was nice so that was a good end to the afternoon! We finished the day by visiting the olympic park to see the stadiums ther, its pretty impressive. Then went on a river cruise back to the harbour. All in all it was a great day just a shame about the weather.
Tuesday- hectic day! i went to hospital in the morning and then met dani for lunch at circular quay which was lovely, although still cloudy! We then did the harbour bridge climb which was amazing! We were lucky to have great tour guide who made it such a laugh. It starts off a bit scary walking over the water on a little plank thing and then up some ladders above the traffic up to the main arch, but once your up there its great and the view is excellent. What i found lovely was how quiet it is up there and how you can look over the whole city away from the rush. We were then lucky to have sunset one side of the bridge and a rainbow the other as we were climbing down, perfect! I then ran back across the bridge on the footpath to get back to the house as the consultant from the hospital, (the father of a friend of Stani's) and his family invited me out for dinner. We went to a little place by a beach and it was yummy.
Wednesday- had a great day, Chris and Dieter have shares in a motorboat so we took it out for the day and cruised around the harbour. The weather wasn't great early in the day but brightened up later on. We went past opera house etc and got some pics and then went and got some chips from a small beach. We went to moor at a secluded bay to eat lunch, which turned out to be a gay nudist beach!!! hilarious! felt very strange eating lunch with lots of naked people around! Later on in the afternoon me and Dani walked across the bridge to circular quay and botanical gardens which was really nice and then went out for food somewhere local in the evening.
Thursday- I went into hospital in the morning to have my form signed and say goodbye to the team. I then met dani at circular quay and we got the ferry out to manly for the afternoon. Had some lunch at a vegetarian restarant and then chilled on the beach and went shopping, an ideal afternoon! That night we went out for pizza and drinks with my cousin marcus and his friends which was cool, their all sooo australian!
Friday-last day in sydney sob sob. Woke up early and headed out to town, got the bus out to bondi and lay on the beach, but it clouded over so we gave up on sunbathing and got lunch and went shopping instead! Went out for dinner but then got an early night as busy day ahead.
Sad to leave sydney as its such a beautiful city and have enjoyed spending time staying with my distant cousins. Oh well time for the next step in my journey!
Will upload more pics soon, hope everyone is well,
Lotsa love lor xxxx
