Third day in Sydney today. Had a nice chilled sunday yesterday, woke up to a cup of tea and then watched friends, the sort of home comforts i've been missing, so was reallly nice to do! Then met sam again and we walked around kirribilli-the area i'm living in, and then went into town for lunch. Despite being sunny and about 30 degrees it was a very windy day with gale warnings so we didn't head to the beach. Then last night I went to my 3rd cousins house for a bbq with the family which was really lovely. Had my 1st day of placement today, made my way across the city on train,bus and foot to the uni of new south wales where I had to register. Its such a big campus, nothing like little old lukes! not what i'm used to so took a while to find my way around,a really nice uni though. Registered and got uni card etc and then made way over to the hospital on the other side of town, more buses! Met two guys from imperial college med school who are in the same hospital as me which was cool, so didn't get lost alone! Went to register after a quick lunch in a cafe, but the consultant was teaching so I have to meet him tomorrow morning to start the week. The hospital is nothing like home, it looks more like a hotel! looks even better than a private one at home,its weird, can't complain about working there, its a bit of change from tonga though. Got the train home and went for a quick run along the water front looking out over the harbour,city and opera house,pretty cool. Still finding it weird being in a busy city and civilisation! Missing tonga and the boys a bit as i'd really settled there. But enjoying sydney and enjoying getting to know my family. Trying to upload pics but their comp isn't recognising my camera,annoying! I'll keep trying. Will write once i've done a bit more, L xxx
