Wet and wild!
Today was an adrenaline adventure on the kicking horse river. We decided to give whitewater rafting ago, so we booked ourselves onto the full day excursion. We arrived at the site and were kitted up with wetsuits, booties, life jackets, paddle and helmets.
We were then driven up river to our rafts and given the talk "what to do if u fall in!" we started in some gentle rapids were we learnt to work as a team. Then we hit the fun stuff graded as level 4 rapids! Level 5 is the most extreme you can do in a raft. But level 4 definitely gets your heart racing!
We had lots of fun bouncing around in the raft and holding on for dear life! The trip also included a riverside BBQ - it was good we had seconds!
Towards the end of the trip the instructor said we could jump in and swim in some of the smaller rapids. Stef jumped in and let the rapids carry him downstream, lorna stayed closer to the boat- just in case!
We seem to be a lucky charm for bear sightings as in the morning one swam across the river in front of us. Then later on there was another bear on the river bank. It was the first bear sightings for everyone else in our boat!
We are now in the small town of golden and we are staying on a ranch! It's very quirky! We feel like we have been transported back in time to a frontier town - yee hah!
With love
