Now we know we're in Canada!
Today was the day we picked up our campervan and what a beauty she is.
We started our journey by driving through the busiest part of Vancouver which isn't easy when your campervan is wider than the lane you are meant to be in.
The route we decided to take is the famous sea to sky highway. It started with a beautiful view over Vancouver from the lions gate bridge before winding its way up through the pine forest hills. We decided to make a quick stop at the capilano suspension bridge, which is 450 feet of wobbling wooden planks high above the canyon floor and a clear rushing river. There was also a tree top walk and an impressive cliff walk balcony, this had a glass floor revealing a 300 foot drop. You defiantly needed ahead for heights - we saw lots of people freaking out!!
We set off again up the sea to sky highway towards whistler and what an amazing drive it was! On the way we past raging rivers, dense pine forests, waterfalls and towering cliffs. The road began to climb up and up between many ridiculously high snow peaked mountains. The scenery was breathtaking!
We found our first campground with ease. We hooked up the electricity and made our way into whistler. Whistler is a very trendy village full of shops, bars, chalets and mountain biking dudes! The village was built for 2012 winter Olympics and is now a very popular ski resort. We had a stroll around the shops and found the best ice cream shop in Canada! After stuffing our faces with ice cream we made our way back to our new home on wheels!
With love
