Hills, jungles & tea plantations!
Our 4 hour drive started at the coast & climbed up to the skies! The road would not be out of place on a top gear special with its crazy local drivers, people, cows &monkeys running out in front of the traffic, and thin roads with sheer drops & incredible views!
There were lots of glimpse of traditional life along the way including women carrying a ridiculous amount of stuff on their heads, a field full of brightly coloured fabrics left out to dry & locals working on the fields.
We safely arrived at our destination for the next 2 nights munnar. It is a small town situated near southern india's highest peak, the area was made popular for its worlds famous tea plantations. We are staying high up on a mountain side in a spice plantation retreat which seems isolated from the rest of the world! It has stunning views of the surrounding valleys, tea & spice plantations.
On arrival we took a guided tour through the retreats spice plantation. we trekked up a steep jungle path & the owner of the plantation pointed out his spice & fruit plants.
After the hustle & bustle of the harbour town this is a total contrast! Very laid back, peaceful & quiet.
Lots of love xxx
