Hello, jsut a quick update on the baby orangutan placement at the moment!
I am absolutely loving it!! Theyre sooo cute :) WE feed and clean them in the morning. ITs quite a task cleaning them when theyre in their cages and their hands are sticking out trying to grab our clothes and brooms and licking all the dettol off them floor!!!!! lol. all part of the fun though. Then we take 3 of the tiny babies out onto the ropes play area in the morning. Some of them are very eager to climb but some need lots of encouragement and just want hugs all the time!
In the afternoon we do the same but take the bigger ones (still little but not quite as little as the others) to some bigger ropes in some trees. Theyre more eager to climb - apart from fatty Rubin who just likes to lie down and eat food!!! LOL.
Sometimes when the little babies have diarrhea etc we have to bath them. which is the best thing ever!!!! Ive been lucky so far and had really good ones to bath hehe., they just sit in the bowl and hold onto the sides and suck the bubbles off their arms! :) And like to be rubbed dry with the towel.
The babies are really like children. Reto sucks her thumb, and lots of them, especially Cinta have strops! Screaming and crying and throwing themselves around when they havent got their milk - (yep jenna from babies bottles hehe).
There's a new baby in the quarantine who was found in palm oil plantation last week. He's so scared and timid and when you get him out he just clings to you and wont let go - its really quite sad :-( When you put him in his cage he cries and screams, heartbreaking! But we have found a trick involving food which quietens him a bit! hehe.
Am really enjoying it, and thinking of ways to take one home.......maybe as a rucksac on my bag?!! hehe.
Anyway havent got long left here, really going to miss it. SO trying not to think about it too much!!!
Will write soon, might be in Thailand! lots of love to you all xxxx
