Up early and ready for our 4 hr drive to Memphis. I managed to find the post office and drive us out of Nashville in peak traffic. A couple of leg stretching stops and 4.5 hrs we arrived in good ol Memphis. Very hot but it has been everywhere we have gone. We checked into the heartbreak hotel across the road from Graceland. The hotel is a very Elvis themed place to stay with Elvis movies on 24/7 and Elvis music playing everywhere. We are clearly going to be hypnotised the whole time we are here. So many excited Elvis fans checking into the hotel. We headed over to purchase VIP tickets as we had our own shuttle service and access to additional areas. Graceland was amazing. Not as tacky as what I thought it would be. Really interesting and we all had a great time at the house. We then went on board the private jets and checked out the Elvis car museaum. Of course we purchased memorabilia and then head back to the hotel so the kids could have a swim in the heart shaped pool. We then boarded our shuttle headed for Beale street. Wow......party party party. The street is closed off so you can walk around and drink and listen to live music and watch street performers. We dined at miss pollys and I had fried green tomatoes and southern fried chicken, amazing....will never eat KFC again. We then walked...and drank...and I drank a bit more....and a bit more. We went on a horse and buggy city ride which was fun and interesting , plus we were able to drink on it as well. Once off the buggy we caught the shuttle back to the hotel and stayed up, well I did with other travellers talking and having a nightcap or 2. A few hrs sleep are required before we fly to Vegas tonorrow
