Early start today as we were being picked up at 6.30am for our tour to grand canyon. Our guide, don picked us up and it was a private tour so just the four of us rather than a big coach full of tourists. Don was so nice and very friendly. We had a pit stop in a remote little town out in the desert, can't remember the name but it was a cute little town with nice people. We then headed to the visitors entrance of grand canyon as Paul and Jacob were going on the helicopter/boat tour. Don then stayed with Mitch and i as we went to do the skywalk. It was truly amazing, so much better than we thought. Don then took us to the Indian reserve and explained the customs that we really enjoyed. Once Paul and Jacob got back we headed to the next area of the grand canyon and took in the amazing views. There are no guard railings at all anywhere at grand canyon so could not understand people walking around in thongs....crazy tourists. Not as crazy as the Chinese and Japanese tourists there. So pushy and rude, there is more than enough grand canyon for everyone but they actually physically pushed past people. Don then took us to a small ranch for lunch. It was an amazing place in the middle of nowhere. We headed to the dance hall for our lunch. Choice of ribs or chicken.....and veggies yay. Tho my chicken was pink and dry, not sure how that is possible but everyone really enjoyed it. We then went out the front and the kids learned how to use a tomahawk. We then headed back with don via Hoover dam. Kids and I slept on the way as the heat was pretty extreme. Got to Hoover dam and got out of the van and it was 45 degrees so I stood out of the air conditioned van for about 30 seconds then got back in and the kids followed. Paul and don stood outside discussing and admiring the hole with water. We then headed back to the hotel and went for a much needed swim. Then had some tea.....gross Denny's, looked like it would be tasty and had an early night
