Mejores momentos Buenos Aires:

Here we are. We have had a bit of a blog break to honourAbuela Lala who can?t follow the blog as often since she is on holiday in Santa Cristina. We have been in Argentina almost two weeks eating non stop. Thankfully there is lots of cheap nice clothes so that we can keep buying bigger sizes to fit our new bodies. Here goes our most recent summary of events.
Highlights of Buenos Aires:
Spending 10 days in one place at the Hostel Inn Obelisco on Av. Corrientes. A beautiful building in the middle of all the noise in a great room with lots of light, high ceiling, wooden floor and lots of space. Great stuff.
Uxio´s vegetable and rice soup to try to settle his stomach (which took a few days to get over the height). It stank and was disgusting. Difficult to achieve for such a good cook.
Waiting for the "mothers of the May square" for an hour just to see the 6 women arrive, set up their tables and sell all kinds of stuff.
Walking around Caminito.
Uxio was happy standing inside the Bombonera.
The hairdresser that was brave enough to touch Uxio´s head and beard and could talk about anything from the universe to of course psychology, without leaving out the function of telomerasas in genetics. In the meantime Lola had a traumatic massage with a woman who fancied herself a weird therapist.
A few beers and a good time with Yayo and Benja from Albacete.
Lots of food and yummy meat. We especially liked La Chacrita in Recoletos and Mirasol in Puerto Madero.
Seeing Los Luthiers next to the monster family who had to go through all the jokes before they were told and repeat them after, shouted at the wrong time and in general were difficult to ignore.
The taxi drivers and their views of life and the situation in Argentina.
Sunday market at Matadero, where people of all ages danced to the local folkloric music. Delicious pastries and sweets, arts and crafts and the Buenos Aires youngsters dancing rap in the street.
The antiques market at San Telmo and the street artists. We especially liked the group of trendy men with classical instruments, including a piano, playing tangos.
Walking around the city amongst all the amazing buildings (we thought about uncle Jose Carlos). Going shopping, Uxio bought a few bits and pieces that could be the beginning of a 'new look'.
The tango class we went to and the Milonga afterwards.
Walking around Mafalda park and the flee market.
Highlights of Puerto Iguazú:
The great sleeper buses in Argentina, even long 20 hour trips are quite easy to do. Very comfy and lots of films.
Of course the Iguazú falls. Once again another wonder of the world takes us by surprise. We loved it. It was amazing, the way it is flat on the top and it seems as if the earth disappeared to create the falls.
We liked seeing the falls from Argentina and then from Brasil sipping a Caipirinha.
The weird Brazilian show in the hostel where three people managed to get 70 tourists to take part in an aerobics class on a Saturday evening and then conga. Also the crazy tourist who decided to entertain everyone during dinner every night by pretending to be Donald duck with a microphone.
Seeing Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay from one place at the same time. T
he Bottle house, created by a family of artists who want to test how to recycle different things in a useful way. http://imagenes.tupatrocinio.com/img-bbdd/documentos/como%20nace%20la%20casa%20ecologica%20de%20botellas%20sintesis%20delproyecto.doc
Highlights of Tucumán:
Walking around the city again with beautiful houses and buildings. The Independece square.
The huge beetle we slept with in our pretty but rundown hostel.
Washing the huge bag of dirty clothes we had been carrying around.
One of the best dinners we have had in El Portal. We ate Tamales, Humitas, Locro, Empanadas.
