well here we are in country number 2, New Zealand, home of the Kiwi and a lot of sheep and now for the next month me alice dave and dan! we had an early start for the bloody flight from our bloody noisy hostel (our room pretty much was in the club which pounded with music pretty much all day, i think im still bobbing around to the rhythm now) so we had a fairly good flight which was mercifully short as we had screaming kids, not one but 2 and me and alice were ready to bite our fists. luckily i found solace (sleep) and we got to christchurch in one piece although some idiot's box of defrosting prawns had leaked over dans bag. he was not impressed. we checked into a fawlty towers looking hostel and we went to a pub for a nutritious meal (chips) and i fell down the worlds most stupid steps in a fairly spectaculour manner where all the people playing poker looked round . EMBARRASSING!! we stayed up til stupid oclock again in effort to watch the football after which point we realised it wasnt being shown. then slept long time. we collected the car which just about fits all our crap and a weeks worth of shopping and drove to lake tekapo (see the picture, its beautiful) where we stayed in the most adorable hostel with log fires and we had a marathon dvd spree after vegging out bigstyle and me absentmindedly nearly burning my bum off on a radiator. yes, i am a natural disaster! we then drove (tho had to stop for rockslides) to Queenstown which is where we are now! nice hostel, had some goon (never again!) and went out last night, then had the great hangover cure of jet boating in the shotover river canyon which was amazingly fun, doing 360 turns and nearly crashing into rocks. we've got so much planned, like the glacier walk as recommended by many of you, an aboriginal evening with traditional food and the haka, poss try catch an all blacks game, go to White islan where they have a active volcano, geysers, hot springs, a wine tour in marlborough (already sampled the wares, mmmm) and also a sky dive over the glacier with some pretty awesome views. its actually like living in a postcard. Good times! Lxxxx
