Bula!! thats fijian for hello and pretty much anything else! here i am in sunny Fiji on the cusp of the end of my journey, sob! left auckland after a 8 and half hour wait for my plane (grr) anhd arrived to the humid air of nadi airport. we stayed at the nadi bay hotel for the night and then was up at stupid oclock to catch the bus to port denaru for our bumpy catamaran journey to Long Beach resort in the Yasawa islands which believe it or not, had a long beach! we were greeted by lots of friendly smiley fijians..then it started raining! the first two days were a bit of a wash out with tropical rain beating down (we played a lot of cards and moaned with our fellow islanders!) but the last day was fine and we did some swimming in the blue waters and visited the next village for afternoon tea and played for hours with their brood of kids who were adorable and very cheeky (one kept putting my glasses on himself and looking very strange!) we left the island in the rain again and had a relaxing 4 hour cruise back to the main island, again, an early start was had the next morning as we left to do the Feejee experience ( a coach trip around Viti Levu with all the cultural trimmings). this was amazing and i strongly recommend it! we did hiking, went to fijian villages and had a kava and sevu sevu ceremony, did sandboarding, beach bbqs, met a lot of the locals who hawked us a lot of pretty jewellery ( i just cant help myself!). we visited some gorgeous hostels and met some great fellow travellers and we swapped stories and had a few drunken nights on the beach. Volivoli beach was a particularly memorable night as our guide cam and sasha put on a drag show for us and the guys all looked a bit shellshocked!

we arrived back in nadi a bit filthy from the thermal mud pools but very happy and tired. today is my last day with alice dan and dave so cheers guys! had a great time and i'll miss you! tomorrow they leave in the mornign adn im left til my flight leaves and 10pm, off to LA then home the day after, so land in UK 23rd. so i shall see a lot of you then after my jet lag has been slept off! see you soon!
