Ahhhh Santa Monica, the beach with all the babes and celebrities...!

Unfortunatley for me and my friends the weather hindered such spotting and we were left with the beautiful windy white beaches and the whipping sand from under your feet. Not England by any stretch, but still a stunning set of sand all the same. The main street is just enough shopping for the budget constrained back packer and for the money grabbing minted...so its ideal to spend an afternoon.

There are plenty of tourist information places linking you with Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Boulevard and Disney-Universal trips. My advice to anyone wanting to stay in LA, to not stay down town but to be based in SM. THe public transport is really great from there (boring subject I know) the buses are really cheap and go directly to the airport and up to all the LA hotspots. You can also get up to Malibu beach along the Pacific coast highway too. :D

So Santa Monica...the peir is great at night. Get yourself in the mood by watching the flying scene in Iron Man - that is the big wheel! There is plenty to do and eat, but we tucked into the frozen yoghurt its the only way to go!

There is this hilarious little english pub as well, we had a sunday roast!!!!!! YOu should make the most of the little shop as well - squash was the way fwd after 7 weeks without it!
