Liz: So Thailand, where to start! We got to Chiang Mai with the tour. This was awesome because my Iphone was waiting at our hotel in box with some pop Tarts thanks to the fact that my mum is superwoman!
We ditched the tour in Chiang Mai and decided to stay up north instead of heading straight down to the islands. Chiang Mai was pretty cool. We did a cooking class and learnt to cook lots of delicious Thai food! We went on a elephant trek which was pretty cool! It was in chiang mai that we stayed in our first dorm! It was fine to be honest and our hostel, spicy Thai was really sociable!
We left chiang Mai and got on a bus to start our 4 hour journey along a mountain road with around seven hundred bends to a magical called Pai!!
Oh my god it was incredible! It's this little hippy town where everyone is so chilled out and relaxed. There's waterfalls and hot springs and everyone just drives around on mopeds!
We stayed at spicy pai which was the BEST hostel. We slept in these wicker bungalow dorms which were bloody freezing at night! Me and cat ended up topping and tailing the whole time we were there for warmth!
The people we met there were all amazing! We had a proper little family up there! We didn't do a huge amount, spent a lot of time at the pool and mooching around the town. It was really nice to do nothing after having such a busy month on the tour! This travelling business is hard work!
There was a terrible tragedy on our last day where the hostel dog got strangled by the Thai hostel groundsman for biting him! Thai people are brutal R.I.P Rambo :(
A load if the guys from spicy were spending Christmas in koh Tao so we canceled our hostel on koh Samui and went there instead! When we got there we were told that everything would be booked up, so we jumped on the first room we could find! This just happened to be a 3 bed room with a mattress on the floor that we were going to try and squeeze 7 people in! Luckily later that day we found a bungalow on the beach as well so us girls moved in there!
Koh Tao was really beautiful! The sea water was so warm!! There's beach bars everywhere so we silent the next 5 days just chilling, sunbathing, playing volley ball, more sunbathing! We had some really good nights out there! We normally bought up some sang som which is this Thai whiskey and drank it with coke and M150 which is a super strong red bull! We had lots of buckets and half the time we ended up in one if the hostel pools at 4am! We're wild!!!
For Christmas we did a secret Santa and went out for a full english! We bought Christmas vests to wear and Santa hats! We were playing Christmas songs at the table it was all very festive! Apart from that we just sunbathed and got drunk lol! I also had a massage! It didn't really feel like Christmas, but that was good because no one got too home sick!!
On Boxing Day me and the girls went to see a lady boy show!! It was brilliant!! The lady bits were MASSIVE divas! Worse than Bev!! It wasn't a ping pong show or anything. Basically they just dressed up as Britney or j Lo etc and mimed while some other lady boys were doing a dance routine behind them it git very surreal when this guy/girl came out with a green cloak on and a bug feather head dress and started singing some where over the rainbow! Not your average Boxing Day!!
Leaving koh Tao was horrible! We didn't want to say bye to the spicy family and they were all heading off to the full moon party! While they were there on of the guys got 7 tattoos when he was drunk in memory of the spicy 7!!
We got in a night boat which was an experience! There were thing double mattresses on the floor and there were about 60 of us all sleeping on the floor. It kind of felt like a slave ship! We docked around 5am and got to the little local airport we were flying from about 6 hours early and it wasn't even open yet!!
We eventually boarded our plane and made our way to Singapore for a stop over before finally leaving Asia behind and heading to Australia!
