G'day Folks & welcome to our first installment from down under!
Well it sure is a shock to the system as the extreem pace has really slowed down. We arrived in Melbourne just over 2 weeks ago and have settled into beach life very well! Weather is a nice change to the randomness of NZ ( altho it is currently storming it - tropical mind!). We spent our last couple of days in NZ in Christchurch which was nice. Soph went Whale & Dolphin watching and Bone Craving whilst i did ...er well not a lot really. the weather was nice and it was the National Busker& street performing festival so spent most of the time watching that. Being the ever so sensible girls that we are we spent our last night out on the town and then straight to the airport where we were, well.... a sight for extremly sore eyes! Landed in Melbourne & checked into our hostel in the trendy, kitsch area of St Kilda!
Since we arrived we haven't done a lot but job search and the obligatory 4 hours a day frazzling ourselves in the sun! WE WILL BE TANNED ( our daily mantra!). Me & Soph are in seperate hostels now as she landed herself a job in the first week organising the weekend breakfast in return for cheap accom and a bar job down the road!i've moved to Bev & Micks backpackers in the centre just round the corner from where i've got myself a job in a call centre. Just training at the moment which is a bit dull but just thinking it's only a couple of months till we can be off again!
Keeping the Kiwi Experience alive there are 13 of us who've come to Melbourne so it's pretty cool being able to hang out. We spent sunday at the St Kilda music festival & added a bit of extreemness in there by going on a super extreem fairground ride, oo such fun! we're all planning on going to watch Dr Karl from Neighbours at his band night on a monday - wooooo, exciting times!
Anyhoo, hope all is well in snowy england
Lotsa love your travelling friends xxx
