So Rach and I have decided to do joint blog entries so those of you who get both are bored twice... I havent done one since India but here is the link for rach's first one

Today we were robbed. A thief climbed in through our window, crept over our table, crossed the room, grabbed the items in question and casually strolled back out the way he came. Ignoring our screaming in terror, clutching his loot he waddled away as sneakily as he came. Yep, a monkey (but giant, like a gorilla pretty much) entered our room and STOLE our bananas while we were innocently playing cards.
Today, we became famous in India. As you will be able to see in the photo, we were stars (page 9 for your reference) of the Mussoorie times. That was not the only times we had the paparazzis after us... we caught someone filming us, Liv had moment of 5 photos, some Indian tourists requested us to be in a photo or three with them and all of them don't include the secret snaps that we don't catch (such as the one in the paper!).
Despite the Lonely Planet's description of this town as "swarming with tourists" it seems we are the only tourists here, not including Indian tourists from the city (that we can spot quite easily) and have become an attraction ourselves.
Hilarious moment, after telling someone we were from NZ we got the reply of "Ahhh! Do you know Arjun? He is a taxi driver in New Zealand?" Unfortunately we didn't to his great suprise...
We have been in Mussoorie for about 3 days and loving it. Known as the Queen of the Hill Stations, we totally agree. Even though our plans for Leh fell through (4 days of buses wasn't so tempting) we totally don't regret coming here as our backup plan. View of the valley are gorgeous and our hotel is perched on the edge looking out - magical! We have made good friends with the bangle shop owner, the sweet shop owner, the wooden carving man and pretty much every restaurant in town...
Speaking of food - AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From paneer pasanda to banana lassis to tandori chicken to jabelis (honey filled pretzels) we have been sampling a new dish at every mealtime and have yet to be disappointed. But don't worry, we have been going for improving walks (Mums should be impressed) and due to Liv relying on Rach's directional skills (or lack of) seem to go a lot further than planned every time...
So we are off to Dehli tomorrow to hunt out some more bangles and make our way to Rajasthan for some serious camel riding. We will miss being cold, using a duvet, the clean air and streets. Not so much the kids next door who found the buzzer button outside our door and the power switch outside... not so amusing for us early in the morning!
On a final note, to all those who firmly suggested that going to India was not the brightest idea - you're wrong! Monsoon included India in three words is: colourful, aromatic and delicious!
here is the link for our photos combined: http://www.statravelblogs.com/kiwi_rach/albums/india
Love to all
xx Liv
