Well what can I say, Daydream Island was the most beautiful place I have ever been too and ill never forget it.We arrived on Hamilton Island on Wednesday afternoon, sadly to a lot of grey clouds, don't get my wrong it wasn't cold, it was flippin roasting, but very grey.Within 20minutes of being off the plane and waiting for our transfer by Fanta-sea to Daydream Island, the heavens opened! If spitting wasn't enough, it then poured! It was rather funny, Joe's bag wasn't waterproof and sadly neither was my nicely styled hair!Even due to the humid weather in Brisbane I attempted to make myself look the part for arriving on Daydream Island with my hair done nicely, in the end I just turned out to look like a drowned rat.Oh how we laughed!I was a bit nervous about the transfer from Hamilton to Daydream, but I had taken an obscene amount of Kwells, (you know just in case), so I reckon I actually "flew" to Daydream Island and Joe took the ferry We arrived on Day Dream Island, to be welcomed, by a lovely lady who gave us a shell necklace and then yet more rain. The Rep ran us all inside the resort ASAP, dripping foreheads and shells clanging and all, where we checked in.Our room was wonderful, after staying in the "not so great North Shore of Sydney", this was paradise and it would later turn out to be, just that!Even though the rain was "unpredictable" we headed out in our "Beachy" clothes and took a tour of the island. We found Mermaids beach, restaurants, the Re-Juvenation spa, the fishbowl pub, water sports central and Lovers Cove.It looked great. We quickly decided to get ourselves booked in for everything we wanted to do within the next three days, as it was quite busy and we didn't want to miss out on anything.Thursday would be my birthday so we booked our Full Body Massages for the morning, followed by a relaxing Manicure for Moi (although I'm sure you'd know that that would be for just me and that Joe wouldn't be up for that… Cars, Women, Beer! GRRR).Thursday afternoon, we didn't have any plans but we booked ourselves into the nicest restaurant on the island for my birthday tea.Thursday morning we got up, I ran to the curtains to see… Rain, yet again… BOO!We checked the weather forecast and Thursday would be a day of thunderstorms, and on and off rain burst… fabulous! Eh?It didn't dis-hearten us though, we got ready and headed out for some pampering. The full body massage was absolutely wonderful and very much needed, after carrying heavy bags all over the country and Joe driving all the way from Melbourne to Sydney, our backs needed to relax! It was great, I actually nearly fell asleep (of course I didn't and there was no dribbling of any kind or anything like that) Joe did have to be told that his massage was over… I think he had perhaps snored or something, because he wasn't with it and she did make it clear that it was now OVER! Lol WAKE UP… just kidding, she didn't say that, but I did giggle, listening to her.Afterwards I had my manicure, whilst Joe chilled out in the spa… nice!
We didn't really feel like doing anything too exciting after that, so we went to the Beach Hut and ordered Cocktails. YUM! I had a piece of Chocolate cake also… well it was my birthday (Not that I had had that previous excuse for everything else I had been eating in the last 6 weeks lol)
That afternoon we drank wine, cocktails and chilled the bill out!I got ready that evening for our meal and the clouds had finally decided to break up and it was a wonderful evening.Clear skies, warm and peaceful. After dinner we went to Lovers Cove and just sat and watched the sea and sky.
Yet again on Friday we woke up, I went running to the window and… BLUE SKY and SUN… YES!
We got into our "beachy clothes" again and did the "Brit thing", of: running out as soon as there is sun and laying in it… lol.We had a good ol' sunbathe and then decided that in the afternoon we would do some exciting stuff. We booked ourselves onto using the Jet Ski and then following that onto a glass bottom boat tour of the island. The Jet Ski's were wicked fun, I had never been on one, and so I was like: "Come on Joe faster, faster… wooohhhhhhaaaa there not that fast!" lol We managed not to damage ourselves or anyone else for that matter and loved every minute of it.Afterwards we had enough time for a drink and then we were up for the glass bottom boat ride.It was a lovely trip, all around the island, seeing the fish and Coral underneath. The whole experience of Daydream Island, although I have really shortened it above, was something I'll never forget! The island, scenery and views were amazing and it was the best birthday I have ever had!
