Hey all... just got the internet for a little while before we pick up our campervan!
Just wanted to let you all know that me and Joe are fine! We travelled to Ayres Rock on Monday and arrived AY-OK. When we checked in, we were a little dissappointed because the double we had booked for ourselves looked a lot like a double set of BUNKBEDS! :) Well... we had a little grumble and then Joe pushed them together to make us a big double bunkbed type of thing! We went out for a bit although we arrived late afternoon and went to find Ayres Rock, not that you could miss it! It was absolutely breath taking, Massive, hu-mongus LOL... honestly unless you have seen it, you just cant imagine how big it is! It was so cool
We had such a good evening and pulled up at the sunset car park to take pictures of the other rock... Kata Tunja (or something, ill check that at some point) that evening and thought we would do the sunset pictures or Ayres Rock the next evening... not as rushed!
The pictures were amazing and it was wonderful to watch, all the colours of the rock changing! The above picture is not one of Joes, but we cant upload ours atm... sorry :)
We got back to our room and noticed there was a gap under the door... i said to Joe, we had better put that spare blanket up against the door, because i didnt fancy anything coming inside whilst we were asleep...
Anyways we got into bed when i noticed a mouse poo! I freaked out and said that i wasnt buzzin, anyway me and Joe snuggled up and went to sleep Zzzzzzz for about 30minutes when i woke up to a Clunk/Slap noise! i said OMG Joe what was that? He said Im not sure and went back to sleep... GRRrrrrr, so of course i was up listening out for any noise i could, jumping all over everytime i heard something LOL Such a wuss and a big girl eh?!
Joe woke up and i looked around the room to see a big COCKROACH, the biggest i had ever seen, on the curtain just behind my head. OMG! I said OMG joe look, even Joe looked freaked out... he jumped out of bed to batter the crap outta the thing when it bloody FLEW! I didnt know that cockroaches can fly... did you?!?!?!?!?
Anyways, Joe was freaked and then i started laughing hysterically, because i just simply didnt know what to do! Joe lifted me off the top bunk (yes like a little kid) and put me on a chair... im just about to climb down when Joe thought... oh i know what ill do, ill just kick the blanket under the door, you know, to make sure its secure... when... Der der derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! a HUGE, FAST, FAT Lizard ran out from under it into our room! Joe jumped back shouting "oh F**K" It was hilarious, but i was so scared! It was a big b***** and it ran into our room and went under our fridge! well that was the final straw, i told joe that we are off to reception lol
When we got there... my hair all mattered and baggy eyes from no sleep and red raw from dramatical tears... the manager was horrified... not by the way i looked im sure, but of course by the fact that we had got all that in our room, at once! hehe xxx
She put us in a different room, upgraded free of charge! So... we had to go back to the Bug infested original room, to pack our stuff... where there were moths and midges too, but we were quick and got the hell out of there and headed off for our new room, which was a heaven by the way
Well after all that drama, we slept well! We got up the next day and headed out for Ayres Rock, temperature: 35C by the way! Very hot... and can you believe we didnt burn!
We did some beautiful walks around the rock and took some amazing pictures, which i will put on the blog when we get the net again, just thought id let you know what had happened the last few days!
We took some beautiful sunset pictures around Ayres Rock that night, a lady stood next to us got a proposal, by sunset! Some teenagers put santa hats on and jumped across onto the sacred ground for a picture... typical eh? There was also another Lizard... bigger than the one in our room... that strolled across the road for us to get a snap shot of... so chilled out, i was dead excited! I love the wildlife when its not in my bedroom! :)
We are currently in Melbourne and waiting to pick up our campervan @ 12... so excited about that!
Might not get the net for a while again, but hope you guys are having some fun in the run up too christmas, me and joe still cant get used to christmas decorations in a hot climate! bizarre!
Love to all xxx
