Day two was a struggle. I was exhausted, I barely slept and still felt sick in the night. I'm blaming the jet lag, which is really not fun. Lauren woke me up and we went and grabbed breakfast. For me this consisted of a slice of toast, some water melon and banana. Just anything that I could stomach at this point. It was really hot and sunny so we got ready and went with Kirsty and Nick to Wat Poh Temple (Temple of the reclining Buddah). It was good to see and we saw a couple of monks walking around, but we could have done with an English translation on some of it, insteading of making our own stories up about what things meant or represented, even if that did keep us entertained. I spent a few hours in the afternoon on my own trying to sleep off the sickness and then called home. It was really hard to hear my Grandad is in hospital when I'm on the other side of the world, but pleased he is in safe hands. The others turned up in the room and cheered me up, mostly laughing at my sister who is the dizziest person I know, and a world away from my organised and 'street wise' ways. We decided we wanted to go to a Drag show so Kirsty called Mambo Cabaret show to ask about making a reservation under Lauren's name. We didn't get very far because she was unintentionally talking to them with a weird accent, so we were all laughing at her and then when they asked her to spell Lauren she came out with 'L' for... Lama. Lama?! We couldn't stop laughing so we had to end the call and just hope we could turn up and wing it instead. Turns out we could, it was about 20 minutes in a taxi and 1000 baht to get in. The show was really entertaining, and we had to see some lady boys whilst in Bangkok so what better way to do it then seeing them in a show! We went to Khao San Road afterwards for drinks. It was crazy and anything goes. We got a huge tower of beer to share and watched the craziness around us. A family from Singapore sat by us and kept topping our beers up and trying to get us drunk, which I decided against since I was only just feeling normal again. By 1am myself and Lauren headed to bed.
