Sunday 10th January.
Someone knocked our door at 3am and woke me up. When I answered it was some random man asking me if it was Justin's room.. No. Go away.. I got back to sleep and I got up at 9:30 for breakfast. My sunburn was slightly less painful today but still sore. We got ready to head to the beach over at Manly with my factor 50! We were originally going to head to Bondi afterwards but we ran out of time. We took the train to circular quay then got on the ferry to Manly. It took about 20 minutes and was so busy because it was Sunday. We were told that public transport was cheaper on a Sunday too. When we got to Manly we spotted a Nando's and excitedly went over and ordered some lunch. I went to the shop after to get some new sunglasses and a beach dress to cover the sunburn, then we headed down to the beach. Jamie came down to meet us as she only lives up the road. There were announcements from lifeguards warning people to stop going in the sea unless they were in allocated areas as they had had to rescue a couple of people who were just getting in anywhere they wanted and the sea was too rough. It was a really hot afternoon and the beach was so busy but it was great to chill out and chat with the girls. I would love to live here, and kept telling Jamie how jealous I am she doesn't have to go back to England anytime soon. We left after a couple of hours to get back to the hostel in time to get ready to go to the Sydney Opera House. We were going to watch a show there called 'Blanc De Blanc' which we heard was meant to have a bit of a moulin rouge feel to it. We got there in time to grab our tickets, a panini, and a cider, before the show started. It was a smaller theatre than I expected which was good as it was easier to see the show, and we were on the balcony, close to the stage so had a good view. The show lasted about 2 hours with a short interval and it was really good, although a bit random in some places. They advise beforehand it is strictly for 18+ due to the amount of adult content, but it was funny as well as entertaining. When the show finished we sat on some deck chairs outside which face the harbour bridge and over look the water. They had live music playing and we got our second glass of champagne and watched the hustle and bustle of people passing. I thought i might cry at the thought of having to leave this place, but I'm trying to man up and hold off the tears. We video called my mum which she was really excited about, and showed her the views we could see. It doesn't feel like we are half a world away, it's really strange. We left about 10 and went back to the hostel. Kirsty made some pasta but I was really tired so decided to pack my backpack and get to bed for our early start tomorrow.
