Well here I was on the Isla de Ometepe! We decided to take a few days to visit the gorgeous island home to Volcan Concepcion and Maderas. The first being active, while the latter has long been extinct. After surviving the treacherous ferry ride, we arrived in Mayogalpa. Cycling being the transportation of choice, we rented some bikes for a couple of days and set off for Santa Cruz. During our 28 km ride to the other side of the Island. we stopped for a few hours at an outdoor pool known in english as The Eye of the Water. Water flowing in from nearby Concepcion, the water is chockfull of minerals, and rumor has it, contains healing properties.
Afterwards we found ourselves in Santa Cruz. Stayed the night. and in the morning made our way back to Mayogalpa. On our way, we stopped at Punta Jesus Maria, a wonderfully secluded beach preferred by the locals.
I now find myself once again in Leon, where I will soon be leaving for San Salvador, El Salvador on the 4th.
