Hello Hello!!!
We're now in Airlie Beach, waiting for our 16hours overnight busride to Noosa... So we're looking forward to a REALLY good night of sleep....
Back to Hervey Bay and our trip to were we are right now. First we were driven to the bus-stop about half an hour before our bus was suppose to leave.. 10minutes later and 20min before the bus was going to departure, Turid suddenly relised that her mobilephone + charger was stuck in the wall in the reception of our hostel. YOOHO! After 5-10 minutes of panicing, and some phonecalls from our driver to the hostel, we got it all sorted. 10minutes later and JUST in time for the bus, a taxi drove up with the cellphone and charger. The price? 12dollars... the best money spent for Turid in a long time ;-)
Well then, the crisis was over and 13hours of driving and about a couple of hours of sleep later, we landed in Airlie Beach around 06.15AM in the morning. Was the reseption open? No...it opened at 7AM, and when could we check in?? Nothing less than 6hours later. Good news for two extreeemely tired and exhausted Norwegian girls. Expesially after finding out that the ONLY couch available in the hostel lounge, was taken... happy times.
The time went by and we got the room in the end. Of course, by then we were too awake to sleep, so we grabbed our bikinis and towels, and went for a visit in the local lagune. Since we're not allowed to swim in the sea here in Airlie Beach(dangers with sharks and jelly fishes and so on...) they have made a perfect little paradise with a biiig pool surrounded by palms and other plants. very nice ;-)
The next day we were suppose to go on a 2day-2nights sailingtrip with the New Horizon boat. There we were going to sleep on the boat, and sail around the whitsunday islands, and we had been really looking forward to this. Dropping off the luggage we get the message of having to take a visit to the ABC-travel agency. The reason??? there had been a accident with the New Horizon boat the night before, coming in to the harbour. Well of course, we thought.... Line and Turid was going to be on that EXACT same boat, so something HAD to go wrong.. We got to the travelagency... after getting the message that the boat would not be repaired before a week or so, and that there was no available boat for us that same day or the next 3days, LUCKILY, they found one anyways. We got the last two "places" (directly translated from norwegian... :D) on the "Pride of Airlie". YEEEEYY!!! it was leaving the same day and returning the same day as the other one we were suppose to be on. So we were unlucky but lucky at the same time ;-) (lykke i ulykke for daakk norske ;-D)
On this boat we were 70people instead, and we had the evening and overnight stays on an island. Not quite what we'd expected, but then again, it was better than nothing ;-)
The first day we came straight to the island and spent the night eating, drinking and getting to know some af the other peoples there. Met some nice english people and two nice Norwegian girls, Karoline and Ingvild. They were the first people we've met that is from the same area as us, Stavanger ;-) The next day was INTERESTING.... Us four girls was spending 90% of the boattrip in the back of the ship, leaning over the rail, trying NOT to throw up! Really enjoyable, we have to say. Why we didn't take any seasickningtablets you ask??? Because we thought they were overrated... Having SOME regrets about that, we were VERY careful to remember them the next day(which went a LOT more smoothly to say it at least...). Well, we got a small brake from all the waves and concentration(looking at a mountaintop) on a BEAUTIFUL beach. The finest white sand in the world, and the clearest water. The only exeption for all the greatness, was that we had to wear a Stinger-Suit,covering us up from neck to toes and fingers, every time we went into the water. This was to avvoid being stunged(?) by the very dangerous jellyfishes in the area.. Cool!. Well, the second night was spent in the same way as the night before, and the next day we left the island, to do some snorkelling(where in fact we chose to stay on the inside of the boat(because of the HEAVY rain from the outside), and then we headed back to Airlie beach. ;-) spent some hours with our new Norwegian friends before they went on the nightbus, and we went back to the room, were we went to sleep around 10o'clock. LOVELY :-D
As we said, now we're heading towards Noosa. There we will visit Australia Zoo before we, a couple of days later, go back to Brisbane for a night before heading to FIJI on the 1st of April! Maybe, HOPEFULLY, we can catch up on some suntanning there(in what we have been lacking since Bali ;-O)
See yah all later dudes and dudettes!!! ;-D Hugs and kisses from your lovable girls Line and Turid ;-)
