Unfortunately, I'd got it wrong about the fireworks, oops! Instead, a group of us from the Gap trip, plus a girl I'd met in my dorm, went for a wander to Little India. There seemed to be a lot of Indian men just standing around which seemed a bit random so we didn't wander too much. Instead, we found a curry house and I had a good old Tikka Masala. They didn't give us plates, instead, we ate of a banana leaf which was pretty cool. We had a good time and then one of the group had to head off for her flight back to the UK so we said our goodbyes. People had been leaving in dribs and drabs in all different destinations but it was good fun.
We decided to walk back to the hotel and sit on the roof terrace, play some cards and eat sweets which was really good fun and it was much cooler than during the day. I said goodbye to the girl from my dorm, as she was heading to Oz early morning. We may well end up in the same place along the way.
The next morning I got up, had breakfast and then decided to have a bit of a 'stroll' to see a bit more of the city. I decided to walk down towards Orchard Road etc and discovered Fort Canning Park along the way so decided to pop in there and walk round. About 2 hours later, I arrived back at the hotel, feet aching, sweating, attractive! Annoyingly, as we're here for Chinese New Year, a lot of things have been closed which is a bit of a shame. The park was inetresting though and I took a few photos so I'll try to get those up at some point. Then, I planned to meet a few of the others (the only ones left of the group) and go to Hooter's for lunch. Annoyingly, I hadn't realised it was exactly the same way I'd just come from, 45mins later, having covered all the same ground, we got there to find it was closed :( We opted for a pizza instead which was nice and then strolled back to the hotel.
A bit later, we went up to the roof terrace and just chilled out and chatted which was nice. Then a couple of others joined us, we played cards, did some joint washing and then headed out for a sandwich (plus cake, oops) afterwards. We stayed out for a bit and then said our goodbyes, headed back to the hotel and went to bed.
This morning, I just headed for a bit of a walk to Orachard Street, popped to the Post Office and came back. We're going to have a late lunch before our flight and then get to the airport a bit earlier so the 3 of us can get seats together.
Have had a lovely time exploring Singapore, roll on Oz :)

isha hiya Lindsay! Wow it sounds like Singapore is really nice, I can't believe you're off to Australia already! So exciting, have a safe journey! You're not missing anything here, it's been raining all day! :( xx
Barrie Jackson I'm an old school friend of your Dad. Have just read your notes and it brought back so many happy memories of Singapore when we went a couple of years ago, especially Little India. Now you make me envious of going to Australia, my dream in life to get there one day! Take care and have a great time. Barrie Jackson (Madrid)
