Thank you everyone for the Birthday wishes! My day was most excellent. On the Sunday before, Cam and I went to a place called Crystal Cascades which is a collection of swimming holes and waterfalls about 20 minutes drive from home. It was shady and rainforest-y and the water was quite nice. I could stand in it for as long as I wanted without my feet going numb. I know, hard to believe (for those of you from Canada) - it was too good.

Apparently there's a spot where you can jump 7 or 8 metres into a swimming hole below but unfortunately Cam and I didn't know this and missed out. We'll just have to go back.

Soon Cam and I will be moving out and heading down the coast to Brisbane, after which we're flying to Tasmania for Christmas. And by soon I mean in a month. I'm really excited though. As much as I like the reef and the rainforest, I realise that this climate really isn't for me. Sweat smells and leaves stains on your clothes. And rain jackets don't really do a whole lot when it's bucketing around you. Actually that's a lie, my shirt was dry - it's just everything else that got soaked. However I AM looking forward to the apparent thunder and lightning storms that come with the wet season.
