The Adventure Begins...........
The hotel concierge calls us at 7am telling us the driver is waiting for us downstairs - I don't think I've ever packed up, got ready and have breaky that quick before. Thought we had an extra 2 hours to spare.
After eating as much as I can in 10 minutes we are off to Limuru!
It takes about 1 hour to get there from Nairobi and on the way we pick up Charity, one of the organisers of African Impact. We arrive into Brackenhurst Conference Centre, our home for the next 6 nights and first thought is that It looks pretty impressive! - feels a bit like a exclusive retirement village with lots of security around.
The cottage we are staying in fits up to 26 people, currently there is about 10 of staying there, all working at different projects around Limuru.
After orientation we are off to check out the Limuru Children's Centre (LCC) where we prepare lunch for the children and meet the friendly staff.
"Jambo" which means "Hello" in Swahili is the word I'll be using a lot for the next few days here.....
