Back home... & the longest Ive spent back in the UK for 3 years! Long overdue some may say! & what an awesome summer I have decided to make it happen! As with all folk from England, we are obsessed with the weather! & being from Yorkshire I am no different! Best English summer Ive experienced! Been great so far...
Bicycle Diaries being a highlight! My new Hybrid & I have been getting very close! My bum has now moulded to the seat!!! Padded cycle shorts are the greatest invention & have, Im quite sure saved my life!!
Next year Yorkshire welcomes the Tour de France & I have been out sampling some of the potential routes! The moments where I believe I have a great bit of downhill before me only to find out that it is in fact yet another uphill struggle! Some of the hills around the Yorkshire Dales dont seem to stop! & Im always attacking them from the wrong side!
The scenery and views have been stunning! You always forget how great the area around where you live (grew up) actually is. I have been travelling around the world for a while now, and have experienced some absolutely incredible places with the most spectacular views. I forget that the countryside around Harrogate is actually really quite beautiful!
So, mode of transport; Bicycle!
It has been quite a while since I spent so much time with friends & family in England, I realise that there is a lot I am missing out on. Although, not enough to keep me here...
Friends are all getting married and/or having children or both!! So good to see the little ones! Been lots of fun playing and just hanging out with close friends... The greatest thing about it is, no matter how long it is since the last time we saw each other, it onkly takes a second before we are back on track! Just like Ive never been away! Sign of truely great friends!
30th Birthdays the theme for most this summer! Getting old.. Ha (I'll soon be celebrating my 2nd aniversary of my 29th birthday!) Penny's bash was nothing short of awesome! Bouncy Castle, Sumo Suits, Giant Jenga & plenty more! Always a great do! sarah's tomorrow amd a trip to the seaside is on the agenda! Non stop fun times!
Spent the last couple of days in Newcastle visiting the brother! Hadrian's Wall (which is quite simply just that, a wall!) & South Sheilds done! We were far too tight pocketed to pay any entry fee at Hadrian's Wall. Once you've seen one Fort you've seen them all though! ;)
Treated to a fine Friday night in 'The Original Masons' pub, very interesting clientele with very interesting music tastes up that way! That said, very friendly folk...
The desolate North East... A great place and definately a must on anyones itinerary visiting England.. I would even say forget the South, just come up North!!
3 Weeks left of my holidays... Next stop Ireland! time to climb the big holy mountain; Croagh Patrick!
