Hey everyone, sorry I haven't written for a while... My time here in Sydney is drawing to a close, I am going to miss here so much! I have enjoyed the city much more than I thought i would. Although in saying that, I haven't been living in the city, I have been living in the Northern Beaches where you can catch the bus or the ferry over to the CBD.
For work I have been working at a store called Rivers Australia in Warringah, and at a restaurant called Mezzanote, in Dee Why. I have made some really close friends here. The restaurant is possibly the best I've ever worked at, free dinner at the end of your shift and a group of great people to work with. Rivers has been my first job in the retail industry, I kind of picked the wrong time to start in retail - over the Christmas period - the christmas period gives a whole new outlook on extreme shoppers!!! Through working at Rivers I have made 2 very close friends Bonnie and Graziela. I will miss them very much, but hope to see them when they are on their travels oversea later this year.
I spent Christmas with Bonnie and her family at their house in Whale Beach, it was a beautiful day, her uncle owns a beautiful apartment that looks out on to the beach! I had a fab day! Bon and her mum made me feel so welcome and bought me some lovely pressies!!!
New Years Eve I met up with my friend Tanja whom I shared a room with in Cairns and we went to the Shore Thing Party on Bondi Beach. It was such a good night a couple of Dj's were on throughout the night, the atmosphere was great and it was one of the best New Years I have ever had! The next day we got chatting with the guys that live above Tanja's friends apartment and we drank champagne before heading to the beach to catch some rays... It felt so weird being on the Beach on NY Day...but fantastic too! :-)
Tonight I am off to the Opera Bar to meet them again, the bar is directly beneath the Opera House, so providing the sun doesn't disappear any more, we can watch the sunset looking out across the harbour.
I am here in Sydney until Wednesday night and then off to Melbourne on another lovely bus journey. I will be staying with Laura's Aunt and Uncle there and will then Fly to Perth to see Hazel, Gerait, Sara, Cellyn and new little William. I am looking forward to seeing them again, maybe Hazel will cook a famous curry on my visit! Yum Yum!
Take Care
I'll see you at home very soon
