Hi everyone, so we got here, FINALLY, the journey to Darwin wasn't as bad as we thought, but it was very long, driving throught the night arriving at 9;30pm, 26 hours after leaving Broome! The journey wouldn't have been anywhere near as long, but the two drivers were stopping very randomly to have a siggy or buy more food, or to deliver mail. It seems that Greyhound buses deliver alot of freight mail as well as pasengers around Australia.
When we arrived in Darwin, it was weird as it is the biggest place we have been to for a while. All of a sudden, back in civilisation - lol!
We chilled with a ferw beers and had a great night's sleep in a bed!!!
Yesterday was our last day altogether so we walked around Darwin and saw all the sights, we caught the bus over to the museum and the Botanical Gardens, and sat down in the evening with some friends we had previously made in Broome! We keep seeing people along the way that are travelling in the same drirection, which is really good! We debated on whether to go out but in the end, we chilled on the balcony with Feike, Saskia and Max.
Today I have been on a tour, I said goodbye to Erica & James this morning who are currently on another Greyhound bus to Alice Springs... Maybe I will get there one day within my trip, but I am off to Cairns tomorrow to find a job to earn some money to go onward down the East Coast.
The tour I went on was brilliant, we went to the Litchfield National Park after going on a Jumping Crocodile tour... they entice them out of the water in order for you to see their size. Not sure how I felt about that but I saw them in their natural habitat, and got some great Pics. We drove on for some lunch, but unfortunately got a flat tyre, so stopped at an Aboriginal Art Centre where they had a pet Wallaby in the shop along with numerous other animals wich was a bit unusual to say the least. Once the bus was fixed, on we went. Once we had finished lunch we went to see a huge Termite mound which was pretty amazing and then on to the the fresh waterfall pools where we swam and cooled down! The scenery was beautiful! On our way back we were also fortunate to see a Frilly Dragon, not sure of their real name, the Aussies call them Frilly's??? That was quite unusual too!!!
Now I have a long night ahead of me, my flight is at 5;30 in the morning, so I am leaving here at 11;30ish to go sit in the Airport - Fun Fun Fun!!! Saves on a nights accommodation though!!! I'll update you again, once I am in Cairns!
Speak to you soon!
