Hey there guys! So I MADE IT HERE!! Today is my third day in Roma and I am already in love with this city. I have seen more beautiful places in 2 days than I have my whole life. When I first got here I was so jet lagged. I met my actual roommate (Shannon) at the airport which was really great because then we got a taxi together and made it to our apartment. They drive so fast here and they think that any inch of the road you can drive on. And the things you hear about the mopeds, they are true. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!
So the first day we got settled in and then went to a welcome dinner with like a 4 hour 8 course meal. That's how the Romans do it! We went out after dinner to a bar and had a few glasses of wine. It was soo good and super cheap! They must know us college students can't afford the expensive stuff.
Yesterday, we woke up and were absolutely exhausted but we had to go to an orientation for school. They told us that alcohol was prohibited and we couldnt drink with ISA. TOTAL LIE! After orientation we went on a bus tour of Rome and saw the most beautiful sights. We saw Rome from the mountains and you could see the whole city. It was gorgeous. We also saw the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, and the different parts of Rome. I am so overwhelmed right now, but it is with good stuff!
I also have 6 roomies and they are all really cool. One is from U of M and she and I get along very well! We went out last night again and had a blast! It wasnt too crazy because we had to wake up early today to have another orientation. Actually in the orientation, there were kids leaving to go lay down to cure their hangover haha.
Anyways, I have to get going to see the city and go grocery shopping. The food is so fresh here and really good. It is hard to eat a lot though because it is so hot and humid. So i have been sticking with the vegies and pizza. Original right?? haha. Also, did I mention we get a cleaning lady?? It is great! Alright well I will post either tomorrow or the next day. I start classes tomorrow so it should be an interesting day! One of my classes already got cancelled so that is a great sign!
