Nervous Turkey!
Day two in Bangkok Phuket Hospital.
We managed to have a better sleep last night due to the nurses only checking up on Matt every 4 hours instead of 2. They check his blood pressure, heart rate and take away the numerous bottles that he leaves on the side in the bathroom. Matt too had his first hot power shower in months today to blast away the grime of the last few days of being hooked up to the drip. On a positive note, the doctor decided that he would be ok to be taken off the drip as he was now drinking and eating his normal amounts. On a negative note, his platelet count has dropped again, now to 80. We are really hoping for an increase tomorrow so that we can get out before Rich and Jenny arrive.
The hospital food is not great and Char is having to supplement Matt's diet with 7/11 toasties and canteen food. The worst came today as the very kind lady offered Char a meal due to somebody being discharged. Char felt bad declining so accepted with a big smile and a thank you. Once she had left, we figured a plan of how to get rid of some of it so to not look ungrateful. It's amazing what can go down the sink.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
