Nervous Turkey!
We faced a grim fact today, after recently running out of deodorant and only left with our body odour, that we smell Asian. And it's hard to get rid of, we must find a shop tomorrow.
With only less than 3 weeks to go, we decided it was time to give our backs a break and downsize the weight of our bags. We have realised how little clothes you actually need in Asia so we have pretty much halved the size of our load. It feels good to have a cleanse. This should make room for some presents for the kids.
In other news, we caught a boat from Koh Phayam to Ranong and travelled in luxury. 2 leather arm chairs on the top deck. We sat and laughed as these were the only two seats apart from three plastic chairs, so everyone else took the floor or rested on cool boxes. In a tuk tuk from the boat to the bus station, we got treated like aliens yet again as a family of 12 Thai's boarded. By the end of the trip it was like we were part of their family as they shouted goodbye, keeping their selfies with us as souvenirs. It's always funny when you know they are talking about us as they say something in Thai then look at us with a giggle. We think the Grandma definitely took a liking to Matt as she checked out his tattoo.
We wasted some time in Ranong before HOPEFULLY our last night bus of the trip. To be honest the last few, including this one have been quite pleasant. We were treated to big comfy chairs, aircon, clean packaged blankets, water and cakes. Matt however still found it hard to sleep as the chair wasn't quite long enough for his legs, so he took to the floor for an hour.
