A somewhat different day today. We started with the normal breakfast. But instead of cycling, I walked with another lady along the beach to class. It was a nice morning to do that. I took my camera but I will take it again tomorrow to get some better photos. We went to adult learning which went very well. I feel like I'm connecting with the class and helping with their English learning. The nursery today was a different class and a bit less rowdy than yesterday. We got quite a bit done and the. The kids got restless so we just ended with a song.
In the afternoon, I just helped with some class prep for the rest of the week and next week, even though I'm not here next week.
In the evening we took a ride (on a "dalla dalla" something like a truck converted to a bus) to the other end of town for a meal prepared by some of the local teachers. It was a large selection of local foods which was delicious, in a little four sided building sitting on the floor, and eating with our hands, right hands only.
We made it back to the Impact compound in time to meet up with 'Dulla. He was successful in getting my volunteer visa, though they had to photocopy my photo in the passport to use.
Soon after we got back the electricity went off again, but not too bad since it's almost time for bed. It's actually a nice night, feels a bit cooler/ drier which hopefully will be more comfortable. With the sea breezes it is much better at night than Stone Town.
