We got up and had a quick breakfast before going on our tour at about 8.30 with our guide. He took us past the palace gates and then on to the blue mosque and see the hagia Sophia from the outside which was almost opposite the mosque. In the mosque we had to take our shoes off and even though we were wearing tights under our short pants they gave us a piece of material with Velcro to wrap around our legs. It was weird how many strings were hanging from the ceiling for the low lights. Was pretty though and after a look we walked on to a Turkish rug place where we got apple tea which was awesome. they showed us how to tell if it's hand or machine woven(If you pull it apart and see the knots it's hand) and tried to sell us some but they were pretty dear. Then we walked to the grand bazaar where we were left for a free afternoon. There were hundreds of men who would say anything to get you to buy something. One man said he liked my socks and he had a dream about them even though I wasn't wearing any. They kept asking if we were from paradise too. It was huge and u could get lost in there so easily. We brought some cool hippy turkish pants and i got some apple tea and a leather jacket thats apparently lamb. We also got the cheapest bag we could find for our souvenirs that is so ugly and the man had to go to the attic and dust off to get. The man got a photo with me too which was a bit weird. Then walked to go towards the lale restaurant or pudding shop which was apparently famous in the 60s for the starting point of the backpacking hippy movement. Billie wouldn't listen to me though and we ended up walking for ages in the wrong direction. Was so hungry at this stage so I was half pissed. I finally found where we were on the map though and got our way back to the restaurant. Billie got a donor kebab and I got chicken shish kebabs. They were ok but I honestly liked home ones a lot better. We walked from here back to the hotel and dropped off our bags before going with ally to some shops across from the hotel. We stopped in at a local turkish delight shop which was owned by mr delicious. It was backlava and turkish delight and they were all so yum. Hugest box though thats goin to take ages to get through. I got a nice ring and we headed home to get ready for dinner. We went to a Turkish belly dancing show which was pretty awesome and there was also a magician there that was cool as. Makes me want to learn both. We got a free wine and had quite a few courses that were pretty yum. I was tired by the end but it was 11 or so and so went to try wake up o a bar near the hotel with the others. There was a cute little room with cushions in it that some people did shisha in and then a dance floor room. They were really slow at first but not expecting us obviously. One man was a bit creepy and brought me flowers wrapped up and then made me a rose from a napkin and put it behind my ear. It was fun hanging around dancing and didn't get smashed just a bit drunk. I walked home with Pete about 3.30 to go to bed and Billie came shorty after.
