Day started off a bit crazy because
My alarm nor allys (who was or roomie) went off so I only woke at 7.40 and breakie was meant to be 7.30. I was also dishie so when I ran over I had to clear plates before I'd even eaten. Did get some breakfast though and we walked to the boat ferry. We headed over to Venice which was lovely. First we got there and met in at marks square before going on a guided walking tour. The tour lady was funny. At one place a japanese tour was heard over our headphones and she told us to learn japanese and later she told us to go quick to get past the old people because they were slow. She told us about the Venetian masks usually meanigto be plain and were invented because people used to go to casinos and they were embarrassed so his their faces. We then went to a Venetian glass blowing demonstration which was pretty awesome. It's pretty amazing how they did it. They took us into their shop after and everything was gorgeous but sooo expensive. We then went out and got some capriosca for lunch- it was pretty much pizza but they weren't allowed to call it that because of what they classify as a pizza. We then went to go into the church, at marks basilica. It had beautiful gold leaf and paintings all over the roof and walls. We went up the bell tower then and got a pretty good view of the city. Thought we'd see the canals more but didnt. We went down and decided not to go in the doges palace which we herd later was a bit long and poo. We saw the bridge of sighs from te outside anyway which was where prisoners saw there last daylight walking over and apparently sighed, hence the name. It was where cassanova was held in jail. We went thento get lost and wander the streets and try find some jackets and a dress we had walked past on the tour that I had liked. Found the dress and got it but not the jackets. The canals were gorgeous and we crossed quite a few of the 400 bridges that are in Venice. we also went over the Rialto bridge on the walking tour and found huge seafood and fresh fruit and vegetable stores. We also went past a few wells where they used to get their water. We then went to use the toilet which cost us 1.50 euros to use. We kept wandering for a bit and decided to head back to st marks square and eat more and sit down even though it was dear to sit at the reaturants there because they had full on fancy String and piano bands. We got lost though and had to ask a few people how to get back. It took us an hour or more to get back and we were there with 15 minutes to spare before 4 which was what time we hadto meet for our gondola ride. We had some more capriosca because it was rather yum te first time and went with the group to the gondola ride start. We shared a boat with mark b alysha Jess and Nicola. It wa an awesome ride we could have been on all day. Was only Half hour though and the man rowing wouldn't sing to us no matter how much we asked him so we attempted singing it's amore. Was quite fun ad we had a bottle of wine called .... Too which was really tasty. We got off an walked back to the ferry to go home. was a nice boat ride up pn the top in open air. We got back to camp and packed our bags and Billie took some washing over while I went to organize photos and buy wifi credit to upload some pics. It kept failing again so had to do 5 at a time. Finally got London pics up but haven't started contiki yet. We had dinner in the bar/ pizzeria area which was salad chips chicken legs and ribs which were all yum. Kept trying to get up to date with Facebook and my net money and battery ran out before I could check net-bank or my emails. Hope there is net at the next place. By the time I finished I noticed half the people were drunkish already and tried to catch up but couldn't. Went to bed just before close at 12.30 or so.
