Alarm went off at 5 today to get up and go meet the bus by 6am. Got all checked in and got on the bus for an hour and a half. Would have been good to sleep but had to listen to a talk about everything. At least he made it interesting though. Went through to Dover through passport control to catch the barge to france! The white cliffs of Dover were pretty. The tour manager, Steve said they paint them every year to keep them white- funny b*****- they're really made of chalk. We got on the barge for another hour and half or so. Was pretty large.. It had a whole duty free like shop, a bar and a food court on it. We got off the barge in Calais and had to drive about anther 2 hrs to get to a stop for lunch. Was like a wierd maccas we had for lunch... Got a 'long chicken' burger meal with fries and chips. The shop was called 'quality burger restaurant.' i felt pretty rude ordering in english when they spoke French. Wish I has learnt it from Pam or something at some time. The seats aren't as comfy as i expected and not much leg room but it's alright. Hard to sleep though and I've lost my neck pillow I bought too. have to get another. The tour manager is quite youngish though and has good music so that's good. we had another 2 hrs or so drive to Paris then. We got in and the room was pretty awesome. You had a pin code to make the lift go an another pin for your room. Billie and o shared an when we went to our room we were surprised that there was some ppl already in there. Turns put they were ppl from our tour who were meeting us in Paris and just got assigned one of the rooms. We got a new one though and it was good. The toilet was like a port a loo because of what the floor felt like. The shower head also changed colour depending on the temperature. We only had an hour though and went downstairs to the restaurant next door 'le sultan.' they had awesome food.. The main was chicken with a fantastic sauce an rice of some flavour that was also great. We then went on a sightseeing tour around Paris in the coach. We stopped halfway at a little reataurant to have wine and cheese and try escargot (snails). They were done in garlic and thats about all you could taste. They were a wierd texture but weren't too bad. Would have them again if offered but i dont think id choose them. We ended up at the eiffel tower. We didn't get to go to the top but we went up part in the lift. Was very pretty. There were so many ppl trying to sell little ornaments and things that we were warned to stay away from so they didn't pick pocket us. They kept calling some of the girls in the group lady gaga for some reason lol. We then walked to the metro and caught the train back to the closest stop to go home. The streets smelt like urine in places it was pretty gross. Was 11 by the time we got home so went to bed.
